Richard G. Jones

Richard lit the actor musician Broadway Production of Sweeney Todd at the Eugene O’Neill Theater, for which he was nominated for an Outer Circle Critics Award and won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lighting Design. He was also nominated for a TMA Theatre Award for best lighting design for The Railway Children at the National Railway Museum and a DORA for the Toronto production.

Richard’s West End work includes actor musician productions of Sunset Boulevard, Sweeney Todd, The Gondoliers and Mack and Mabel, Carmen also productions of When Pigs Fly, Steptoe and Son, Horrid Henry Live and Horrid, Female Parts, Behud, The Complete World of Sport (abridged), The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged) {revised}, as well asThe Railway Children at the old Eurostar Terminal Waterloo. UK National tours include Fiddler on the Roof, Strictly Confidential, Beautiful Thing, Wuthering Heights, Rasputin, Candide, The Hot Mikado, Canterbury Tales, Spongebob Squarepants the Sponge that could Fly, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Diary of Anne Frank

Richard has recently lit The Collector & Venus in Fur for the English Theatre Frankfurt, Strictly Come Dancing Arena Tour 2014 for Phil McIntyreProductions and Stage Entertainment, Fiddler on the Roof for Music & Lyrics UK Tour. He is currently working on designs for a new actor musician production of Calamity Jane for The Watermill Theatre & Jamie Wilson Productions which will start a UK tour in September and The Wind in the Willows for York Theatre Royal.
