Martin began his training at the Dixon-Woods School of Dance in Leicester and went on to graduate from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

His theatre credits include; White Christmas (Edinburgh Festival Theatre); Ensemble & Dance Captain in Top Hat (Aldwych); Swing & Dance Captain in Top Hat (UK Tour); White King & Understudy Arbiter in Chess (UK Tour); Lead Vocalist in Tap Dance Fever (Niagara, Canada); The Sultan in Dick Whittington (Cochrane Theatre, London); Broadway to West End (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane); State Fair (Finborough Theatre); Evita (UK Tour); White Christmas (Edinburgh Playhouse and Cardiff MillenniumCentre); Gentleman to Macbeth in Macbeth, Cobweb in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Guest in Lady Be Good, Pierre in The Boy Friend andNathaniel u/s Hortensio/Biondello in The Taming of The Shrew all atRegent’s Park Open Air Theatre; Understudied Joe Vegas/Schlomo in Fame The Musical (European Tour), Follies In Concert (LondonPalladium), Santa Claus The Musical (Southampton/Liverpool Empire)and Lead Singer/Dancer in Various Musicals (P&O Aurora Ship).
